Dear Colleagues,
It is my pleasure to write this letter providing a brief update on the activities and accomplishments of the rehabilitation medicine department at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital - Columbia and Cornell.
Jaclyn Bonder, MD, is one of just a dozen physiatrists nationwide who specialize in women’s health rehabilitation with a focus on ob/gyn-related issues. An assistant professor at Weill Cornell Medicine, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Bonder treats numerous pregnant and postpartum patients with musculoskeletal problems, as well as those with other conditions related to pelvic floor muscle dysfunction and weakness. “When patients come to me, they’ve often lost hope,” Bonder says. “I find it really gratifying to keep digging, to think outside the box to try to figure it out.
Dr. Michael O'Dell and Dr. Chi-Chang David Lin were reunited with NYPD officer, Tarrell Lee, after helping him recover from a near fatal accident 10 years ago.
Police officer Tarrell Lee nearly died when an SUV plowed him over as he directed traffic in midtown. Lee, 37, was kept in a medically induced coma for more than four weeks as doctors at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center performed surgery after surgery — trying to save his life.
