Dr. Lorna Collins is a board-certified physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with specialized training in Brain Injury Medicine. She has clinical interests in both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, with a particular focus on traumatic brain injury, concussion, stroke, and spasticity management. She is passionate about helping patients maximize their functional recovery and independence following neurologic injury.
Dr. Collins received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Neuroscience from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where her studies sparked her interest in the brain and its role in human function and behavior. She subsequently earned a Master’s in Medical Sciences from Boston University School of Medicine, completing a year-long research thesis investigating concussions and the development of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).
She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. She then completed her residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia and Weill Cornell Medicine, followed by fellowship training in Brain Injury Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Collins’ clinical interests include the comprehensive rehabilitation of individuals with traumatic and acquired brain injuries, stroke, and other neurologic conditions. She has a particular interest in both inpatient and outpatient neurorehabilitation, spasticity management, and helping patients transition from acute medical care through the various stages of recovery.
Dr. Collins is committed to a patient-centered approach to rehabilitation, working closely with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans that support meaningful functional goals and long-term recovery.
