Dr. Jason Edwards serves as the Director of the Brain Injury Program in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Rehabilitation Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College as well as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Edwards provides comprehensive neurological rehabilitation and spasticity management for patients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, brain tumors, and other neurological conditions. He takes an individualized approach to rehabilitation, assessing eeach person’s unique injury to then guide treatment choices to maximize function and quality of life.
Dr. Edwards completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston/TIRR, where he served as Chief Resident. He completed his Brain Injury Medicine & Rehabilitation fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine/Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, where he was a recipient of the Shirley Ryan Research Accelerator Program Quality Grant for his work on vestibular dysfunction after traumatic brain injury. While at Northwestern, he also completed specialty training in Medical Education through the Feinberg School of Medicine.
A frequent presenter at conferences on neurological rehabilitation, Dr. Edwards has contributed to numerous scientific journals on brain injury. While at the Texas Medical Center, he was the host and moderator of PMReport, the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston’s podcast exploring the latest trends and advances in the world of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
